Brad JonesLiverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones has been loaned out to Derby County until the end of the season.

Derby manager Nigel Clough has intimated that the Australian will be a regular in the first team line up as his club fight to avoid relegation.

“Brad fits the bill perfectly,” he said.

“He has Premier League experience, Football League experience and most importantly big game experience.

“We have some big games coming up between now and May and he will be our number one in them.

“He hasn’t had much first-team football this season, so I am pretty sure he will be looking forward to the challenge.

“Liverpool have done us a big favour and I would like to thank Kenny Dalglish and the other officials at Anfield for agreeing to loan another of their players to Derby County.”

The 29 year olds arrival at Pride Park follows the return of Matt Duke to his home club Hull City.

Jones joined Liverpool in August 2010 for a transfer fee of £2.3 million but has made only a handful of appearances for the Reds.

An Australian international he was part of their 23 man squad for the FIFA World Cup in 2010 but he left following the news that his son had been diagnosed with Leukemia and did not return.
